Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture Development and Farmer Welfare Minister, Shri Ramvichar Netam, announced in a press conference that on August 2, 2025, approximately 25.47 lakh farmers in the state will receive ₹553.34 crore as part of the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He revealed that a cumulative total of ₹9765.26 crore has been disbursed to farmers under this scheme so far, underscoring the government’s unwavering support for the agricultural community.
Addressing the media, Minister Netam emphasized the state government’s commitment to ensuring the timely supply, storage, and distribution of fertilizers and seeds to farmers. He highlighted several farmer-centric initiatives, including the procurement of paddy at ₹3100 per quintal, bonus payments, and the waiver of irrigation taxes, which have significantly benefited the farming community.
In a significant step toward inclusivity, the minister noted that farmers holding forest land leases (vanpatta) and those from particularly backward tribal communities have also been integrated into the PM Kisan scheme, ensuring that marginalized groups receive financial support.

Netam further elaborated on the state’s efforts to promote modern agricultural practices and crop diversification. The Drone Didi scheme, aimed at empowering women in agriculture through technology, is being actively implemented alongside initiatives to encourage advanced farming techniques and the cultivation of diverse crops. These measures are designed to enhance productivity and sustainability in Chhattisgarh’s agricultural sector.
The minister’s announcements reflect the state government’s holistic approach to farmer welfare, combining financial aid with infrastructural and technological support. The timely release of the PM Kisan funds is expected to provide a significant boost to farmers, enabling them to invest in their crops and improve their livelihoods.
With these efforts, Chhattisgarh is positioning itself as a leader in agricultural development, ensuring that farmers, including those from remote and underserved communities, have access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive. The upcoming disbursement on August 2 marks another milestone in the state’s ongoing mission to empower its farmers and strengthen the rural economy.
