Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh attended the grand celebration of Maa Karma Jayanti and the statue installation ceremony at Maa Karma Bhavan in Dhiri village, Rajnandgaon block. Dr. Singh began by offering prayers to the newly installed idol of Maa Karma and extended warm greetings and best wishes to all on the occasion of Maa Karma Jayanti.

On this occasion, Dr. Singh announced a grant of ₹5 lakh for the construction of a boundary wall around the Maa Karma Bhavan. During his visit to Dhiri, he also inaugurated an additional computer room building at the Government High School, constructed at a cost of ₹6.96 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raman Singh emphasized the spiritual greatness of Maa Karma, stating that her deep devotion once attracted Lord Krishna himself to partake of her humble offering. He remarked that the blessings of Maa Karma have been pivotal in the progress and prosperity of the Sahu community.
Dr. Singh also highlighted the achievements of the Chhattisgarh government under Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, mentioning key initiatives such as the purchase of paddy at ₹31 per kilogram, procurement of 21 quintals of paddy per acre, and the launch of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana benefitting 7 million women—hailed as the largest women’s welfare scheme in India.
Furthermore, he spoke about ongoing infrastructure developments like roads, bridges, and schools across the state. He assured the villagers that the under-construction bridge in Dhiri would be completed soon and directed officials to take action against illegal encroachments in the village.
The event was also addressed by District Sahu Samaj President Shri Bhagwat Sahu and Sahu Samaj Patron Shri Kalyan Sahu. Notable attendees included social worker Komal Singh Rajput, Janpad Panchayat President Smt. Pratima Chandrakar, Sarpanch Shri Jagdish Lahare, Sahu Samaj President Shri Ghanshyam Sahu, Mandal President Shri Khileshwar Sahu, Shri Manoj Sahu, Dr. Mohit Sahu, and other prominent members and officials of the Sahu community.
