The district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a series of programmes to mark Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14. According to District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput, preparations are underway to ensure participation from all four mandals.

On August 13, the Rural East Mandal will host a motorcycle rally from Tedesra to Surgi to spread awareness about the events of 1947. The rally will be flagged off by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. On the evening of August 14, North and South Mandal units will organise a torch rally highlighting the human suffering caused by Partition, while also holding Congress responsible for the division of the country.
Speaking on the significance of the day, Komal Singh said, “The Partition divided this nation into two, cut Bharat Mata’s arms, and created Pakistan. Those who were supposed to go to Pakistan did not leave, but millions of Hindus were driven out from there after being assaulted, mutilated, and having their properties seized. Remembering their pain is our responsibility. The very mention of the Partition’s horrors sends shivers down the spine.”

The district BJP has also issued directives to all four mandals to organise discussion sessions on the topic.
During the meeting, farmer leader Ashok Choudhary spoke about the national flag, noting that “due to Naveen Jindal’s efforts, ordinary citizens gained the right to hoist the tricolour — a right earlier restricted by Congress and later restored by the Supreme Court. Today, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the tricolour enjoys the honour it deserves.” He also shared important guidelines for handling the flag with respect.
The meeting included a rendition of the organisation’s song by Kamlesh Prajapati, and was conducted by Chandrabhan Jaghel. Vote of thanks was delivered by former Mandal President Tarun Laharwani.

Prominent attendees included Shiv Verma, North and South Mandal Presidents Sumeet Bhatia and Golu Gupta, North and South Mandal in-charges Ravi Sinha and Mukesh Baghel, Tarun Laharwani, Neelkanth Gade, Poornima Sahu, Ashokaditya Srivastava, Balwant Sahu, Akram Qureshi, Ramesh Sonwani, Parul Jain, and Santosh Singh, along with several BJP workers.
