BJP Alleges Bhupesh Baghel’s Son Benefited Crores Through Tribal Minister’s Misuse: Komal Singh Rajput

Rajput Calls Congress’ Statewide Protests a “Farce”, Accuses Former CM of Facilitating Coal and Liquor Scams

In a fiery press conference, Rajnandgaon BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput lashed out at the Congress party and former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, accusing them of deep-rooted corruption and public deception. Responding to the state-wide protests launched by Congress in support of Baghel’s son, Rajput described the agitation as a “meaningless spectacle” aimed at distracting the public from the truth behind massive financial scams.

“Bhupesh Baghel is not a political leader anymore; he has become a factory of lies,” Rajput said, launching a scathing attack. “From coal block allocations to liquor licenses—every department under his rule turned into a tool for looting the state’s resources. And now, when central agencies are exposing these scams one by one, Congress leaders are trying to divert attention by staging protests and road blockades,” he added.

Rajput accused Bhupesh Baghel’s son of earning crores of rupees by misusing the Excise Department, allegedly by manipulating then Tribal Affairs and Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma. “It was a planned conspiracy. A tribal leader was given the Excise portfolio, and he was used as a cover while the real mastermind sat behind the curtain,” Rajput claimed.

Citing reports from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Rajput said that Lakhma told investigators he had no knowledge of the documents he signed and simply followed the instructions given by officers. “This clearly proves that the entire liquor scam was being operated under the direct influence of Bhupesh Baghel and his son,” he said.

On the issue of coal block allocations, Rajput laid out a timeline of events to prove Congress’ role in facilitating big corporate deals. “On June 23, 2011, when Congress ruled both Chhattisgarh and the Centre, Bhupesh Baghel proposed opening the Tara-Para East coal block. Later, as CM, he approved environmental clearance for Gare Pelma Sector 2 on October 16, 2019. These actions benefited private companies like Adani, proving Bhupesh’s duplicity on the issue,” he alleged.

Rajput also accused Congress of exhibiting double standards on the Adani issue. “When in power, they helped Adani get coal blocks. Now, when they’re in opposition, they are blocking roads in protest. This is the height of political hypocrisy,” he said.

Highlighting the series of scams during the Congress regime, Rajput listed the liquor scam, coal scam, rice procurement scam, Gothan scam, and the PSC recruitment scandal as examples of how public money was looted. “Now that the law is catching up with the culprits, Congress is crying foul. But people of Chhattisgarh know the truth and will no longer be misled,” he said.

He concluded with a strong warning to Congress leaders: “Stop misleading the public. Give up your sycophancy towards Bhupesh Baghel and ten Janpath. If this continues, Congress will disappear from the map of Chhattisgarh.”
