The Annual Day and Medal Distribution Ceremony of Digvijay Government College, Rajnandgaon, was held with academic pride and cultural vibrancy on February 26. The event celebrated scholastic excellence, institutional achievements, and the collective vision of empowering youth through quality and employment-oriented education.

Presenting the annual report, Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta described the college as an institution enriched with historical and cultural legacy, committed to providing accessible education to students from marginalized sections. She highlighted that the college has secured the top position in campus placements across the state and ranks 45th nationally in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

The institution has also signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with reputed organizations to facilitate internship programmes for sixth-semester students, reinforcing its focus on skill development and industry exposure.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey underlined that providing employment-oriented education to youth remains a core priority of the government. “Every revolution is driven by youth power. The responsibility of realizing the vision of Developed India 2047 rests upon our shoulders. Serving Mother India must be the ultimate goal of our young generation,” he said, while congratulating the medal recipients.

Chairman of the Jan Bhagidari Committee, Atul Raizada, reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to ensuring student welfare and strengthening campus facilities. During the ceremony, Principal Dr. Gupta placed a demand for the construction of four additional classrooms, to which the MP assured necessary support.

A total of 84 students were awarded gold medals and certificates of merit for securing the highest marks in their respective classes. Jaya Thakur received the Gold Medal for securing the highest overall marks in the college.

The event was attended by Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, MLA representative Santosh Agrawal, Cooperative Society President Sachin Baghel, Komal Singh Rajput, Rajendra Golcha, Ramesh Patel, Chintu Sonkar, and several other dignitaries.

Students, under the guidance of the Women’s Cell, organized a handicraft and painting exhibition. The 20th edition of the college’s half-yearly newsletter “Digvijay Campus” was also released on the occasion. The programme concluded with colorful cultural performances based on Chhattisgarh’s heritage and Indian folk traditions, drawing enthusiastic participation from students.
