Acting on the directives of District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, officials of the Agriculture Department conducted surprise inspections of private fertilizer outlets across Rajnandgaon district to ensure fair storage and distribution of chemical fertilizers during the ongoing Kharif season.
During the inspections, seven private fertilizer dealers were scrutinized by fertilizer inspectors. At Dadaji Agri Clinic, Ganj Mandi, Rajnandgaon, it was found that the dealer was selling fertilizers without a valid license. Authorities immediately sealed the premises and ceased operations.

In Dongargaon block, Sheetal Krishi Kendra was issued a notice, while Sinha Krishi Kendra faced suspension of its license for selling fertilizers without maintaining a price list or proper records. Similarly, in Sahaspur Dalli and Chhuriya blocks, Aashirwad Agro, Kabir Krishi Kendra, and Siddiqui Qureshi Krishi Kendra were found violating provisions of the Fertilizer (Control) Order, 1985 by failing to maintain registers and display price lists. Their licenses have been suspended for 21 days.

Deputy Director of Agriculture, Mr. Tikam Singh Thakur, appealed to all licensed fertilizer dealers to strictly distribute fertilizers to farmers at government-fixed rates and to record all sales through the POS system as mandated. He further directed fertilizer inspectors to take prompt and strict action in accordance with the law if any irregularities are detected during future inspections.
The action underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring that farmers receive fertilizers at fair prices and in compliance with regulations, particularly during the critical Kharif cropping season.
