Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the BT road construction project worth ₹1.33 crore at the Adarsh Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti, Rajnandgaon. Speaking at the event, Dr. Singh emphasized that the Agricultural Market Yard is the economic backbone and developmental capital of Rajnandgaon, benefiting farmers, traders, and citizens alike.
He informed that construction works worth ₹6.49 crore are currently underway in the Adarsh Mandi premises, aimed at enhancing trading efficiency and providing modern amenities to stakeholders. Dr. Singh directed officials to ensure that all ongoing works are completed within the stipulated timeframe and with high quality standards, asserting that no compromise on construction standards would be tolerated.

Model facility for farmers and traders
Highlighting the Mandi’s importance, Dr. Singh said that the Adarsh Krishi Upaj Mandi plays a pivotal role in the state’s paddy procurement operations, contributing significantly to Chhattisgarh’s agricultural economy.
“The Mandi operates year-round, facilitating paddy procurement in both seasons and housing a vibrant vegetable market. Farmers and traders here have access to all essential facilities — from rest houses and shops for daily needs to agricultural machinery and equipment under one roof,” he said.
