In a significant step towards fulfilling the housing dreams of economically weaker sections, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation will allot homes under the ‘Mor Makan Mor Aas’ scheme through a transparent lottery system on May 15, 2025, at 3:30 PM in the Town Hall auditorium.
This initiative, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), has been designed to provide long-term renters and homeless families with affordable, well-facilitated multi-storey housing. A total of 1,282 residential units have already been completed across key city locations such as Lakhouli, Pendri, Mohara, and Rewadeeh, with an additional 648 units under construction.
Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma shared that 167 eligible beneficiaries have already received their allotments in earlier phases. For the upcoming lottery, applicants who have deposited the required amount as per project norms will be eligible for home allocation.
The commissioner further detailed the payment structure for homes still under construction. Applicants are required to pay 10% of the pre-determined housing cost upfront, with the remaining amount payable over 10 monthly installments. The under-construction units include:
- 272 units in Lakhouli at ₹2,74,044 each
- 258 units in Rewadeeh and Pendri at ₹2,91,027 each
- 870 units in Pendri and Mohara at ₹2,80,115 each
All construction is scheduled for completion within one year. Beneficiaries will have the unique opportunity to witness the construction of their own homes, adding transparency and personal connection to the process.
Commissioner Vishwakarma appealed to all eligible residents still living without permanent shelter to apply for the scheme and take a step towards owning a home. “This is not just housing,” he said, “it’s about dignity, security, and turning dreams into reality.”
