The fourth day of the Rajnandgaon Swadeshi Mela witnessed a massive public turnout, adding vibrant energy to the fairgrounds as citizens gathered in large numbers to support indigenous products and cultural programmes.

Addressing the gathering, State Patron of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr Khoobchand Parakh, said that the core objective of the Swadeshi movement is to make India self-reliant and reduce dependence on foreign goods. He emphasised that purchasing indigenous products not only strengthens the national economy but also awakens a sense of patriotism among citizens.

Mr Parakh credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past 11 years for significantly strengthening India’s Swadeshi ecosystem. He highlighted that India has now emerged as an exporter of defence equipment, including missiles, marking a major milestone in the country’s journey towards self-reliance.

Former Raipur MLA Mr Shrichand Sundrani, the special guest at the programme, said that Swadeshi received a strong push after Prime Minister Modi assumed office, resulting in the growth of small-scale and cottage industries. He stated that India is no longer dependent on countries like China and the United States. Referring to recent tariff-related developments, he remarked that global powers are now reconsidering trade policies, reflecting the growing strength of India’s indigenous economy.

Chhattisgarh Minority Commission Chairman Mr Amarjeet Chhabra praised the organisers for expanding Swadeshi fairs across the state under the leadership of fair manager Mr Subrato Chaki, stating that such initiatives have significantly enhanced respect and acceptance of Swadeshi products in Chhattisgarh.

State Seed Corporation Chairman Mr Chandrahans Chandrakar said India is rapidly moving towards Swadeshi and that patriotic sentiments are strengthening among citizens. Drawing a parallel with traditional Indian sports such as Kabaddi and Kho-Kho, he noted that Indian culture and values are deeply reflected in indigenous games, symbolising resilience and revival.

The programme was conducted by Mr Vijay Manikpuri, with the welcome address delivered by Mr Yogesh Bagdi. The vote of thanks was presented by Swadeshi Mela Convener Mr Vinod Daddha.
