“A mitanin once told me, ‘Your child’s heartbeat is faster than other children.’ I still hear those words echoing in my ears,” says Mrs. Rajni Yadav, her voice breaking with emotion. “At that time, we didn’t think much of it. Today, I keep asking myself—why didn’t we?”
Rajni Yadav, a resident of Gogaanv village in Raipur district, is the mother of Armaan, her third son. Like his elder brothers, Armaan grew up playing, running, and laughing with friends. Apart from frequent colds and fever, there were no visible signs of illness. Little did the family know that behind his innocent smile lay a serious and life-threatening condition.

That changed on December 13, 2025, when a Chirayu health team, deployed under the instructions of Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, visited a government school in Sarora for routine medical screening. During Armaan’s examination, doctors noticed an abnormal heartbeat and immediately flagged the case for further investigation.
Project ‘Dhadkan’: Detecting the Invisible, Saving Lives
Project ‘Dhadkan’ is a key health initiative of the Raipur district administration, launched under the directions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, with the objective of early detection and free treatment of Congenital Heart Diseases (CHDs) among children. The project is implemented in collaboration with Shri Sathya Sai Narayana Hospital, Naya Raipur, using special health camps and modern digital diagnostic tools.
Armaan was immediately referred to Shri Sathya Sai Narayana Hospital, where detailed examinations revealed a shocking diagnosis—an 18 mm hole in his heart. Doctors informed the parents that surgery was unavoidable.
For Armaan’s father, Shri Ranganath Yadav, a daily-wage worker at a brick kiln, the news was devastating. With no financial resources or access to advanced healthcare, the family faced an uncertain future. Yet, placing their trust in the Chirayu team and the administration, they agreed to proceed with treatment.

On December 28, 2025, under Project ‘Dhadkan’, Armaan underwent a complex heart surgery, performed successfully by specialist doctors—entirely free of cost. After continuous monitoring and post-operative care, he was discharged within days and returned home healthy.
Today, Armaan is back to running after his friends and playing outdoor games. It is hard to believe that just a week earlier, he was recovering from a major cardiac procedure. Doctors confirm that his health has improved significantly and that he is now completely stable. The Chirayu team continues regular follow-ups to ensure his long-term well-being.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Rajni Yadav says,
“Had the examination and treatment not happened on time, my child might not be alive today.”
His father adds,
“I had neither money nor means, but Project ‘Dhadkan’ gave my son a new life.”
A Living Example of Compassionate Governance
Today, Armaan is more than just a recovered child—he has become a symbol of hope, trust, and the power of timely government intervention. His parents repeatedly express their gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the district administration for turning despair into relief.
This is not just the story of one saved child—it is a story of sensitive governance, early intervention, and a system that ensured a fragile heartbeat could beat strong again.
