In an inspiring and socially meaningful initiative, Navjeevan Multispeciality Hospital has organized a three-day free mega health camp at its premises on Dongargaon Road, Basantpur. Such camps are usually organized by social organizations or institutions that invite doctors from outside. However, in this case the hospital itself has taken the initiative by utilizing its professional network and personal contacts with reputed doctors to bring together a team of specialists for public service.

This self-motivated effort by the hospital management reflects a strong sense of social responsibility. Even though it is a private institution, the organizers have arranged the camp with the aim of providing affordable and accessible healthcare to the public. As a result, a large number of people from Rajnandgaon and nearby areas are turning up to benefit from the free medical services.

The three-day camp, running from 13 March to 15 March, offers a wide range of free diagnostic and medical services, including sonography, echo test, ECG, blood sugar testing, endoscopy, and colonoscopy. In addition, arrangements for free meals and refreshments have also been made for patients visiting the camp, which has been widely appreciated by attendees.

According to Dr. Chetan Sahu of Navjeevan Multispeciality Hospital and Diagnostic Center, more than a dozen specialist doctors from different medical fields are participating in the camp and providing free consultations and medical advice to patients. The specialties include orthopedics, neurology, oncology, gynecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, dental care and several other disciplines.

Presence of senior physician Dr. M.K. Diwakar adds prestige
One of the most notable aspects of the camp is the presence of Dr. M. K. Diwakar, who previously served as the Civil Surgeon at the District Hospital, Rajnandgaon. Known for his strong diagnostic abilities and practical approach to treatment, Dr. Diwakar’s participation has significantly enhanced the credibility and prestige of the camp. His presence has been especially appreciated by patients who trust his medical experience and affordable treatment philosophy.

Other participating specialists include orthopedic expert Dr. Viplav Chandrakar, cancer specialist Dr. Saurabh Jain, neurologist Dr. Taj Mohammad Siddiqui, along with several doctors from other medical fields. Nearly one and a half dozen specialists are offering medical services during the camp, which has led to a steady stream of patients seeking consultation and tests.

The camp is receiving support from several community organizations including the District Bar Association led by President Manoj Choudhary, Tehsil Sahu Sangh under President Chandrashekhar Sahu, Kasodhan Vaishya Gupta Samaj, Chhattisgarh Teachers Association, and Maa Karma Raktveer Club.

A special medical consultation room for women has also been arranged where gynecology and obstetrics specialists are providing dedicated health check-ups and medical advice.

Retired professor Pardeshi Ram Sahu, who is assisting in patient services at the camp, informed that medicines are being made available at a 10% discount for patients. He also mentioned that prior registration has been arranged for the convenience of patients, and those interested can contact 9131756472 or 9300357727.

With thousands of people benefiting from the services, the initiative by Navjeevan Hospital is being widely regarded as a model example of how private medical institutions can contribute to community health through voluntary social initiatives.
