A seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha will be organised from January 3 at Durga Manch in the historic and culturally rich Nandai area of Rajnandgaon. The religious event is being jointly organised by the women of Shiv Parivar Samiti along with residents of all wards, continuing the locality’s legacy of hosting devotional, social and cultural programmes with deep reverence and enthusiasm.
Nandai is regarded as one of the oldest settlements of Rajnandgaon and is known for its strong cultural consciousness, where religious events have been traditionally conducted with complete rituals and collective participation.
Grand Kalash Yatra on January 3
According to senior patron of the organising committee, Vijay Hariharano, the event will commence on January 3 with a grand Kalash Yatra from Mahalakshmi Temple in Sadar Bazaar. The procession will pass through various city routes before reaching Durga Manch. The inaugural session of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha will begin the same evening.

Seven Days of Spiritual Discourses
The Bhagwat Katha will be held for seven consecutive days. Daily discourse timings will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, while puja, archana and other religious rituals will take place every morning from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. The organising committee has appealed to devotees in large numbers to participate and gain spiritual benefit from the sacred narrations.
Renowned Storyteller to Deliver Discourses
The Katha will be narrated by Jay Shravan Maharaj, a well-known and experienced Bhagwat storyteller from Simga. He is widely admired for his simple, emotionally engaging and devotion-filled narration style.

It is noteworthy that religious events in Nandai are known for their strict adherence to rituals, discipline and deep devotion. With the active involvement of women members of Shiv Parivar Samiti and the dedicated service of volunteers, this Bhagwat Katha is expected to become a memorable spiritual event for the city.
