Rajnandgaon District Achieves Milestones Across Key Development Sectors

Significant Progress in Housing, Agriculture, Women Welfare, Healthcare and Renewable Energy

Marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s state formation, Rajnandgaon district has recorded notable achievements in multiple sectors, setting new benchmarks of development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the pace of growth has accelerated in the past two years, ensuring strengthened infrastructure and essential public services in education, health, nutrition and livelihood.

Rajnandgaon District Achieves Milestones Across Key Development Sectors

A major stride has been made in housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with 21,328 rural families and 9,135 urban families receiving their permanent homes during 2024-25. In agriculture, under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, the district procured 70,14,916 quintals of paddy from 1,25,611 farmers at ₹3,100 per quintal, amounting to a payment of ₹61,739.23 lakh.

Women empowerment continues through the Mata Vandan Yojana, where 2,54,992 eligible women have received ₹24 crore 8 lakh 35 thousand 200 across 21 installments via direct bank transfer.

To promote clean energy, the 100 MW AC / 155 MW DC Solar Power Project worth ₹907 crore was inaugurated at village Dhaba on Dongargarh Road. With battery storage ensuring night-time supply, the plant will generate approximately 5 lakh units of electricity daily, marking India’s first on-grid solar system of this capacity.

The district also highlights progress in healthcare with 9,25,688 Ayushman Cards and 23,825 Ayushman Vaya Vandana Cards issued, ensuring free annual treatment up to ₹5 lakh per beneficiary.

Innovative initiatives like ‘Potth Laika’ Nutrition Model have resulted in 65.81% children achieving healthy nutrition levels. Under Mission Jal Raksha, widespread community-driven water conservation efforts have been nationally recognized. Additionally, free online coaching centers for JEE and NEET aspirants have been established across 11 centers, guided by expert faculty.

These achievements reflect Rajnandgaon’s steady progress toward inclusive development and sustainable growth.
