The Chhattisgarh government, under the Department of Urban Administration and Development, has announced an increase of ₹500 in the assistance amount provided through the Shraddhanjali Scheme for families living below the poverty line in urban areas.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav expressed deep gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao, and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh for their sensitive decision aimed at supporting poor families during times of grief.
Under the Shraddhanjali Scheme, financial assistance of ₹2,000 was earlier provided to families for performing the last rites of deceased members belonging to economically weaker sections. The revised amount now stands at ₹2,500.
