Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta and HoD Lalita Sahu, students take oath for a drug-free society and spread awareness through slogans and rally

The Department of Social Work at Government Digvijay Autonomous Postgraduate College, Rajnandgaon, organized an awareness program on “Drug Eradication” (Nasha Unmoolan) aimed at promoting a healthy and addiction-free society. The event was conducted under the direction of Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta and the guidance of Head of Department Mrs. Lalita Sahu.
As part of the initiative, students of the Social Work Department organized an awareness rally from the college campus to Manav Mandir Chowk, raising slogans to inspire the public against substance abuse. The rally echoed with impactful messages such as —
“Jab nashe ka naash hoga, tab desh ka vikas hoga” (When addiction ends, the nation will progress),
“Beedi peeke khaas raha hai, nashe ke aage naach raha hai,” and
“Nasha chhodo, shiksha apnao” (Quit addiction, embrace education).

Through these slogans, students spread the message of a drug-free India and emphasized the importance of awareness in curbing addiction among youth.
Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta administered a pledge of drug-free living to all students, encouraging them to stay away from addictive substances and to motivate others in their communities to do the same.
Addressing the gathering, HoD Mrs. Lalita Sahu said, “The youth must remain vigilant against the poison of addiction and unite with families and society to make this campaign successful.”
The event was attended by Dr. A.K. Mandavi (HoD, Sociology Department), Dr. Priyanka Lohia, Ms. Tarini Sahu, Mrs. Shalini Soni, Mrs. Chitransha Rathore, and all students of the Social Work Department.
