IAS officer Jitendra Yadav officially took charge as the new Collector of Rajnandgaon district, marking his first posting as District Collector in the Chhattisgarh cadre. In his inaugural media interaction, Yadav articulated a clear and focused administrative vision centered on grassroots governance, efficient delivery of welfare schemes, and ensuring transparency in public services.

A 2019-batch IAS officer, Yadav previously served as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhanupratappur, followed by a successful tenure of over two and a half years as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Panchayat Raigarh. Reflecting on his past assignments, he noted his experience in managing three major elections, which provided valuable insights into public administration and law-and-order management.

Yadav assured that ongoing development works initiated by his predecessor would be continued and completed with renewed momentum. “Government schemes must effectively reach every village — that will remain my foremost priority,” he said. He also emphasized strengthening inter-departmental coordination through regular review meetings to ensure timely execution of projects.

Speaking about upcoming plans, the Collector mentioned that he would soon convene departmental review sessions and advance the implementation of key state government priorities. He specifically referenced the Education Hub initiative at DARA, which includes competitive exam coaching for students, promising to review and expedite its execution.

During the press conference, Yadav projected an inclusive administrative outlook — calling public representatives, citizens, officials, and the media integral members of the “administrative team.” He underlined that teamwork, accountability, and mutual trust would form the foundation of Rajnandgaon’s development drive.

In response to questions on civic issues, Yadav identified water distribution problems in the urban area, delays in revenue collection, and shortages of essential supplies like alum (fitkari) as immediate concerns. He assured swift corrective measures.

Public health clearly emerged as a top priority in his responses. When asked about fake medicines, food adulteration, and irregularities in water purification plants, Yadav’s composed yet firm tone suggested a no-tolerance approach. He specifically mentioned close monitoring of the Mohara Water Filtration Plant, enforcement checks on drug vendors, and accountability within the Food Safety Department.

His proactive stance reflected a clear administrative message — that review meetings alone won’t suffice; responsibility and results will drive the new governance model.

Observers noted that Yadav’s demeanor and focus areas — especially public health, clean drinking water, and anti-corruption measures — point to a results-oriented and transparent administration ahead.

As Rajnandgaon ushers in a new phase under Collector Jitendra Yadav’s leadership, expectations are high that the district’s core issues will be addressed with renewed administrative energy and a citizen-first approach.
