Niharika Barik Singh Praises Water Conservation Efforts, Plants Sapling under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign

Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Smt. Niharika Barik Singh, along with Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Mission Director and NRLM Mission Director Shri Ashwini Devangan, inspected various developmental activities being carried out under government schemes in rural areas of Rajnandgaon district.
During the visit, District Panchayat CEO Ms. Suruchi Singh and State Advisor of Swachh Bharat Mission, Smt. Abhilasha Anand, apprised the officials of the ongoing sanitation initiatives. The team also inspected the Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in village Barga.

Smt. Barik Singh lauded the district’s efforts in water conservation and participated in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign by planting a sapling. She also visited the Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) shed, where she interacted with “Swachhata Didis” and learned about their ongoing work in rural sanitation.
Officials highlighted various technical interventions. APO MGNREGA, Shri Faiz, explained the progress of borewell recharge and percolation tank liner pond projects, while Dr. Chhote Lal Sahu presented updates on grey water treatment plots, noting that 37 works have already been completed with more underway.
The Principal Secretary commended the district administration for its innovative initiatives under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural). The inspection was also attended by Additional CEO Shri Devendra Kaushik, Shri Somanath Sahu, and other officials and staff from the Janpad level.
