Marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a grand Super Specialty Mega Health Camp was organized on Sunday at the Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Medical College and Hospital campus in Rajnandgaon. The event saw the presence of Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh as chief guest.

A total of 2,156 patients received free medical consultations, medicines, diagnostic tests, and referrals to higher hospitals when required. Teams of renowned specialists from MMI Raipur, alongside local doctors, attended to patients suffering from serious ailments. Departments included cardiology, nephrology, pediatrics, orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and internal medicine.

Dr. Raman Singh lauded the initiative, emphasizing the importance of patient follow-up to ensure timely treatment. He highlighted that free pathology tests, X-rays, and sonography were provided, and that critical patients would be tracked for continuous care. On the same occasion, he also flagged off the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” campaign, remarking: “A healthy woman is the foundation of a prosperous family.”

The camp was supported by the district administration, Indian Red Cross Society, IMA, Sanjivani Hospital, and various social organizations. Special services included Ayushman cards distribution, assistive devices for 30 differently-abled persons, and voluntary blood donations by five citizens. Outstanding contributions from doctors, paramedics, and volunteers were also honored.

The camp began at 9 a.m. with 12 registration counters to handle the large turnout of patients, many of whom arrived from rural areas. District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Medical College Dean, CMHO Dr. Navratan, and several senior doctors and social leaders played key roles in ensuring the success of the event.

The initiative, organized under the spirit of “Seva and Samarpan” on the Prime Minister’s birthday, has been hailed as both inspirational and impactful, leaving a mark of service-oriented healthcare in the region.

The Secret to the Camp’s SuccessThe tireless efforts of Collector and District Red Cross Chairman Sarveshwar Bhure, along with the guidance of Padma Shri Dr. Pukhraj Bafna, led to the immense success of this first-of-its-kind event in the state, bringing joy and hope to patients.

The camp, driven by the efforts of Collector Sarveshwar Bhure, Medical College Dean and CMHO Dr. Navratna (ex-officio Secretary, District Red Cross), Civil Surgeon of District Hospital Dr. Chandravanshi, Medical College doctors Dr. Prakash Khunte, Dr. Munna Mohbe, and others, proved to be a memorable, successful, and inspiring initiative in celebrating Prime Minister Modi’s birthday with dedication and service.
The event was fully guided by Padma Shri Dr. Pukhraj Bafna, patron of the local service organization Udayachal, with direct support from Ashok Modi, Vinesh Chopra, and Vinod Dadha. Senior Vice Presidents of Red Cross Ashok Chaudhary, Sushil Kothari, Ashok Pandey, Purushottam Tiwari, Co-Secretary Sushil Jain, and local district committee manager Pradeep Sharma were directly involved in the organization.
