Part of Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Celebrations – Citizens Encouraged to Embrace Traditional Healing Systems

As part of the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee celebrations marking 25 years of statehood, the AYUSH Department organized a special program at the AYUSH Polyclinic in Chikhli, featuring a Yoga and Health Awareness Rally followed by a free AYUSH medical camp.
District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Shilpa Mishra informed that the initiative aimed to promote holistic health awareness and highlight the contributions of AYUSH practices in preventive and curative healthcare.

At the camp, Dr. Harsha Baraiyya, the in-charge, educated patients on the importance of medicinal plants and simple home remedies. She explained the uses of the Vidya plant, particularly effective in treating skin ailments such as warts, corns, and other conditions.
Dr. Bharti Yadav demonstrated yogic postures beneficial in managing cervical spondylitis, while Dr. Rubina Ansari shared insights into the achievements of the AYUSH Department over the past 25 years in Chhattisgarh. She appealed to citizens to adopt AYUSH practices for better health and wellness.
Special treatments such as Alabu (cupping therapy) and Shirodhara were performed by Dr. Pragya Saxena on patients. Similarly, Dr. Namrata Koshle and Dr. Anand Bhardwaj conducted prakriti (body constitution) assessments. Free distribution of AYUSH herbal decoctions (kadha) was also carried out for visitors.

In parallel, celebrations were also held at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Baghera, where an Ayurveda Awareness Rally was organized. Citizens were educated about the use of herbal medicines and preventive health practices. Information booklets and pamphlets on hypertension, diabetes, seasonal regimen (Ritucharya), balanced diet, and heart health were distributed.
The programs underlined the AYUSH Department’s efforts to integrate traditional medicine into modern public health services while encouraging people to adopt natural and holistic approaches to well-being.
