Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has launched a sharp critique against the Congress party, particularly targeting Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s bold claims of securing victories in upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In a fiery statement, Rijiju dismissed these predictions, asserting that “one roadshow and five foreign trips won’t win elections,” while accusing Congress of undermining India’s interests.

Rijiju’s remarks come in response to Rahul Gandhi’s recent assertions during a Lok Sabha speech and the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ rally in Muzaffarpur, where Gandhi claimed that the INDIA bloc would defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat and other states. The Union Minister emphasized that such claims lack substance, pointing out that mere public appearances and international visits cannot secure electoral success. “Congress’s promises are hollow, and their focus on foreign trips over grassroots efforts shows a disconnect with the people,” Rijiju stated, urging voters to see through what he called “empty rhetoric.”

The Minister further criticized Gandhi for statements that he believes harm India’s global image. “Speaking against India’s interests won’t make you a genuine leader,” Rijiju said, accusing Congress of prioritizing vote-bank politics over national unity. He highlighted the BJP’s developmental achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, contrasting them with Congress’s alleged reliance on divisive tactics and unfulfilled promises.

Rijiju’s comments have sparked a heated political debate, with the BJP reinforcing its narrative of stability and progress ahead of crucial state elections. The Minister’s remarks also underscore the ongoing rivalry between the BJP and Congress, particularly in states like Gujarat, where Gandhi claimed the INDIA bloc would triumph. As the election season intensifies, Rijiju’s statement serves as a call to voters to prioritize leadership that aligns with India’s growth and unity.

This latest salvo from Rijiju reflects the BJP’s strategy to counter Congress’s electoral ambitions while reinforcing its own track record. With assembly elections on the horizon, the political landscape is set for a fierce contest, and Rijiju’s remarks signal that the BJP is ready to challenge Congress at every turn.
