Kamlesh Suryavanshi, popularly known as Golu, who serves as the District General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), has strongly opposed the establishment of a liquor shop near a cluster of significant educational institutions in Rajnandgaon. BJYM District General Secretary Demands Immediate Removal of Liquor Shop Near Educational Institutions Alcohol Ban Near Schools

The liquor shop in question was opened around 15 days ago and is located merely 20 meters away from several critical educational campuses, including the PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Women’s Polytechnic College, Government ITI, and the Eklavya Model Residential School. Suryavanshi described this move by the Excise Department as “irresponsible, unconstitutional, and deeply disturbing.”

Quoting judicial norms, he stated that the operation of alcohol outlets in the vicinity of schools, colleges, and hospitals is strictly prohibited. He expressed grave concern over the placement of a liquor shop directly opposite a flagship institution like PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, which serves thousands of students including young girls and boys.

“There is widespread anger among local residents, intellectuals, and concerned citizens regarding this reckless decision,” Suryavanshi said, alleging that the Excise Department acted arbitrarily without consulting public representatives or local authorities.

Issuing a stern warning, he remarked, “The people of Sanskardhani are not blindfolded like Dhritarashtra. They will not tolerate such negligence. If the shop is not removed immediately, officials responsible may face widespread public outrage and legal consequences.”

He further added that such irresponsible decisions could damage the public image of the government, especially when they undermine institutions meant to shape the future of the country.

Suryavanshi concluded his statement by urging authorities to prioritize student welfare and immediately shut down and relocate the liquor outlet. Dr. Raman Singh, upon being informed, reportedly took the matter seriously and assured prompt action.
