Rajnandgaon Hosts Key Education Department Meeting to Review Board Results and Strengthen Academic Planning

Under the guidance of District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, the District Education Officer (DEO) Mr. Pravas Singh Baghel convened an important meeting at Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra Government Higher Secondary School, Basantpur. The session aimed to review the recent board examination results and discuss key departmental agendas for the new academic session.

The meeting was attended by principals of all high and higher secondary schools across the district, Block Education Officers (BEOs), Block Resource Coordinators, Assistant BEOs, and Sankul Coordinators. Addressing the gathering, DEO Mr. Baghel emphasized the need for collective and intensified efforts to improve board results in the upcoming academic year. He stressed the importance of conducting student counseling for career options after Class 10 and urged schools to work in coordination with subject experts and engage with parents regularly.

Highlighting the performance in board exams conducted by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Mr. Baghel shared that 68.76% of students passed Class 10 (62.05% boys, 74.08% girls) and 82.25% cleared Class 12 (78.36% boys, 84.93% girls). Notably, 18 students from Class 10 and 17 from Class 12 secured positions in the district’s Top-10 rankings.

In preparation for the new academic session, the DEO instructed all schools to ensure readiness in terms of cleanliness, timetable creation, distribution of textbooks and uniforms, and adherence to government guidelines. He also announced that volunteer-led summer coaching classes will be conducted for students from Classes 1 to 8.

Plans for International Yoga Day on June 21 were also discussed in the meeting, with insights provided by representatives from various yoga institutions. Additionally, Dr. Meena Arme, HOD, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the District Medical College, presented information on healthcare schemes for girls living in mining-affected areas.

Special guest Mr. Dileshwar Thakre introduced students and educators to CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology) courses and career opportunities in the technical field.

The meeting concluded with detailed discussions on departmental schemes including free textbook distribution, uniforms, midday meals, smart classes, and scholarships. Present at the meeting were Assistant Director of Education Mrs. Sangeeta Rao, APC Mr. Manoj Markam, Mr. Adarsh Vasanik, BRC Bhagat Singh Thakur, and other key education officials.
