In a remarkable display of sensitivity towards local crafts and traditions, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Kamar Basti in the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district on May 9, 2025, under the ongoing Sushasan Tihar initiative. At the village, he observed the traditional bamboo craft being practiced by the Kuleshwari Kamar family, which creates household items such as parra, dhukna, and supra.
The Chief Minister not only expressed deep interest in the craft but also inquired about the prices of the items. Impressed by the craftsmanship, CM Sai purchased two parra, two dhukna, and one supra for an upcoming wedding in his family. Although the total cost was ₹600, CM Sai paid ₹700, demonstrating his respect for their work and providing a boost to their morale.

This gesture reflects CM Sai’s grounded approach as a leader, highlighting his commitment to encouraging local artisans and ensuring the benefits of state policies reach every corner of the state, including the most remote areas.
