An Aadhaar biometric and demographic update camp was successfully organized in Ward No. 47, Mohara, under the initiative of Councillor and Education Department Chairman, Alok Shroti. The camp, held on Sunday, saw active participation from local residents, with 138 individuals updating their Aadhaar details, including biometric information, mobile numbers, and demographic data.

The camp was conducted from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and experienced steady footfall throughout the day. Many residents had faced difficulties in availing government schemes due to outdated Aadhaar information. With registered mobile numbers either deactivated, lost, or inaccessible due to family members residing outside, updating Aadhaar had become a necessity for many.

The event was supported by e-District Manager Saurabh Mishra, with additional assistance from CHiPS (Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society) office personnel Leeladhar Kumbhakar and Kunj Bihari Kumbhakar, who played a vital role in the smooth execution of the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Alok Shroti emphasized the importance of updated Aadhaar details for availing various state and central government schemes. He said, “Many beneficiaries were unable to access schemes due to outdated or unlinked mobile numbers in their Aadhaar. This camp was our effort to eliminate that barrier and ensure everyone gets what they are entitled to.”

Councillor Shroti had been making repeated appeals to his ward residents to participate in the Aadhaar update process, and the turnout at the camp reflected the success of his outreach.

The camp also saw enthusiastic participation from local BJP workers, including Parshu Prajapati, Devaki Devangan, Meena Sonkar, Lucky Devangan, Mohan Tiwari, Pintu Devangan, Sohan Prajapati, Laxman Prajapati, Dubesh Prajapati, Kirti Prajapati, Bhuvaneshwari Sinha, Suresh Sinha, and Rupendra Sharma, among others, who helped manage the arrangements and assisted the attendees throughout the day.

Ward office in-charge Aarti Devangan provided details of the event and appreciated the teamwork involved in making the camp a success. The initiative is being hailed as a model of grassroots governance and citizen-centric service delivery in the region.

Such camps are crucial in bridging the digital divide, ensuring the smooth functioning of direct benefit transfer (DBT) schemes, and enabling efficient identification for a variety of public services.
