In a significant step towards strengthening rural power infrastructure, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company (CSPDCL) has successfully commissioned a new 3.15 MVA power transformer at the 33/11 KV Manpur Substation under the Chief Minister’s Power Infrastructure Development Scheme. The move aims to ensure reliable, uninterrupted, and quality power supply to remote villages of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district.
With the installation and charging of the new transformer, the total capacity of the Manpur substation has increased from 4.75 MVA to 6.30 MVA. This enhancement is expected to benefit over 4,050 consumers across 32 villages, particularly improving electricity supply for local farmers and households in the forested tribal region.
According to Anil Kumar Ramteke, Executive Engineer of the Mohla Division, the transformer was installed at a cost of ₹1.35 crore. He emphasized that the upgraded capacity will significantly reduce voltage fluctuations and enable consistent power delivery, thereby enhancing the quality of life and agricultural productivity in the area.
Senior CSPDCL officials, including Rajnandgaon Zone Executive Director Mr. Shirish Selat and Superintending Engineer Mr. S. Kanwar, commended the efforts of the project team. They extended special appreciation to Executive Engineer A.K. Ramteke, Assistant Engineers Shirish Milind, S.K. Thakur, R.P. Thakur, and Junior Engineer Bhavna Mandavi for the successful execution of the project.
This initiative is part of a broader push by the state government to modernize and expand power infrastructure in underserved rural and tribal belts, ensuring equitable energy access across the region.
