MoU Signed on October 6 to Provide Life and Accident Insurance, Family Welfare Benefits and Banking Facilities to Eligible Personnel Earning ₹10,000–₹50,000

Bank of Baroda has introduced special salary benefits for eligible personnel and employees of the Chhattisgarh Home Guards, Fire and Emergency Services, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), offering insurance coverage, family welfare benefits and banking facilities.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Chhattisgarh Department of Home Guards, Fire and Emergency Services, and SDRF and Bank of Baroda on October 6, 2026.
Under the agreement, benefits have been arranged for volunteers and employees in the lower-income category who receive a salary or honorarium ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹50,000.
Eligible personnel can open salary accounts at a Bank of Baroda branch in their respective districts. Unit heads have been instructed to coordinate with the bank and complete the necessary formalities at the earliest.
Life and Accident Insurance Coverage
The salary benefits package includes several insurance and financial protection provisions for eligible personnel and their families.
The benefits listed under the scheme include:
- Life insurance: Coverage of up to ₹1 lakh.
- Personal accident insurance: Coverage of up to ₹40 lakh.
- Air accident insurance: Coverage of up to ₹40 lakh.
- Additional duty-related coverage: An additional 25% of the basic personal accident insurance cover, up to ₹10 lakh.
- Permanent disability benefit: Financial assistance of up to ₹40 lakh in cases of total or permanent disability.
- Partial disability benefit: Financial assistance of up to ₹30 lakh.
These provisions are intended to provide financial protection to eligible personnel serving in home guard, firefighting, emergency response and disaster response services.
Financial Support for Families and Children
The package also includes benefits intended to support the families of eligible employees and volunteers.

According to the details provided, financial assistance of up to ₹4 lakh for a daughter’s marriage and benefits of up to ₹4 lakh for children’s education are included in the scheme.
These provisions aim to extend financial support beyond the individual employee to eligible family members.
Zero-Balance Accounts and Debit Card Facilities
The banking package offers a range of account and card-related facilities, including:
- Zero-balance salary accounts with no quarterly average balance requirement.
- Lifetime-free RuPay Platinum debit cards.
- Free credit cards under the selected variant.
- Zero-balance accounts and free RuPay debit cards for the spouse and up to four family accounts, as specified in the package.
The benefits also include free cheque books, demand drafts (DD), Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and unlimited ATM usage without charges, as outlined in the scheme.
Initiative to Support Personnel and Their Families
The initiative is intended to provide financial convenience and additional security to personnel serving in Chhattisgarh’s home guard, fire and emergency services, and SDRF.
Through the MoU, Bank of Baroda’s salary benefits package seeks to extend insurance protection, family-related assistance and banking facilities to eligible employees and volunteers in the specified income category.
