Officials directed to maintain continuous vigil in vulnerable areas; special caution advised during Ganesh idol immersion

Collector Assesses Water Level and Flow
Amid continuous rainfall in the district, Collector Jitendra Yadav visited the Jangleshwar-Dhamansara Anicut on Friday to assess the water level and flow conditions.
The Collector sought an update from officials present at the site and reviewed the preparations put in place to deal with possible flooding and waterlogging.
Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat, Durga Prasad Adhikari, the CEO of Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon and other officials were present during the inspection.
Continuous Monitoring of Vulnerable Areas
Collector Yadav directed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of low-lying and potentially affected areas and remain in regular contact with villagers.
He said the safety of the public is the top priority of the district administration and directed that relief and rescue operations be initiated immediately in the event of any emergency.
In view of Ganesh idol immersion, officials were instructed to maintain special vigilance around rivers and anicut areas.
People arriving for immersion are being advised not to go near riverbanks or stand close to areas where water is flowing rapidly. The administrative teams are also creating awareness among citizens to remain at safe locations and use designated and safe immersion sites.
Three Rescue Boats Available, More Being Arranged
At present, three rescue boats are available in the district. Considering the requirement, arrangements are also being made to bring additional rescue boats from neighbouring districts so that relief and rescue operations can be carried out swiftly in an emergency.
Teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Home Guards have also been directed to remain alert.
In potentially affected areas, villagers are being alerted through public announcements by Kotwars and Panchayat Secretaries.
Necessary emergency materials, including torches and ropes, have been arranged. Advance storage of essential ration for potentially affected families has also been ensured.
Medical Teams and Essential Medicines to Be Made Available
The Collector directed the Health Department to ensure the availability of medical teams and essential medicines in affected areas.
The District Control Room is monitoring water levels and weather conditions around the clock.
Appeal to Citizens to Follow Safety Instructions
Collector Jitendra Yadav appealed to citizens to avoid going near rivers, streams, anicuts and waterlogged areas and to follow the safety instructions issued by the administration.
Citizens have also been advised to immediately inform the District Control Room or the nearest administrative team in case of any emergency.
