Rajput says no trees were felled at Rani Sagar; only diseased trees and necessary branches were pruned

BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput has hit back at the Congress over its allegations concerning tree cutting at Rani Sagar, asserting that no trees were felled and that only diseased trees and their necessary branches were pruned.
Rajput said the Congress was attempting to mislead the public by describing the pruning activity as indiscriminate tree cutting.
“Congress politics has reached a stage where finding fault with every good work in the city has become a habit,” Rajput said. He maintained that the reality at Rani Sagar was different from the allegations being made.
According to Rajput, the work involved the pruning of trees affected by disease and the removal of branches considered necessary to be trimmed. Describing this as tree felling, he said, amounted to presenting the facts in a distorted manner.
Rani Sagar Development and Safety
Rajput said the efforts being undertaken by the administration and the Municipal Corporation to make Rani Sagar clean, attractive and better organised should be welcomed.
He said environmental protection did not mean leaving diseased or potentially dangerous branches unattended. Necessary pruning, he added, was intended not to harm trees but to protect them and ensure the safety of people in the surrounding area.
Questions Congress Objection to ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’
Rajput also questioned the Congress objection to the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme organised on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
He said the programme was organised across the country on September 17 with a spirit of public participation and gratitude. According to Rajput, Prime Minister Modi himself had described the sentiment behind the programme as an expression of affection and blessings.
“Narendra Modi is not merely a BJP leader but the Prime Minister leading India. As 25 years of his public life were completed, people across the country expressed their greetings and blessings in their own ways. Leaders from several countries also extended birthday greetings to him,” Rajput said.

He questioned the Congress objection to a cultural and emotional programme involving the lighting of lamps on such an occasion.
‘Diya’ as a Symbol of Light, Gratitude and Goodwill
Rajput said that the diya holds a symbolic place in Indian culture, representing light, positivity, gratitude and good wishes.
He said the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme was also associated with these sentiments and that the official programme of the Central Government linked it with service, gratitude and a commitment towards nation-building.
“If Congress finds politics even in a diya and sees trees being cut even when branches are being pruned, the public can understand that the Opposition is more concerned about finding shortcomings in the work than about the work itself,” Rajput said.
‘Congress Should Say What It Opposes’
The BJP district president said that if the Congress was genuinely concerned about the environment, it should offer constructive suggestions on how many trees should be preserved, how many new saplings should be planted and how the city could be made greener.
He said turning every development initiative into a controversy and looking for political motives in every public-participation programme was not in the public interest.
“The priority of the BJP and the Municipal Corporation is clear — the city should develop, the environment should be protected and public participation should increase. Congress should rise above the politics of allegations and play the role of a constructive Opposition. The public is now watching who is working and who is merely finding faults with the work,” Rajput said.
