The famous Baba Ramdev Temple in the city will host the ten-day Bhado Mela beginning September 13. The religious tradition, which has continued for nearly 60 years since the time of Baba Bilakidas Ji Tanwar, has gradually taken on a grand form with time.

For nearly the past 35 years, the mela has also featured a special tradition of night-time bhajans, satsang, aarti and bhandara. This year too, the temple premises will witness daily bhajan evenings and religious programmes from September 13 to 21.

On September 17, Divyansh Pandya of Omkareshwar will present bhajans at the Baba Ramdev Temple. On Sunday, September 21, renowned bhajan singer Rajvardhan Suthar from Ahmedabad will present devotional songs and immerse devotees in devotion to Baba.

Apart from them, Bhavesh Baid along with local and other bhajan groups will also present devotional programmes.

Devotees will continue to visit the temple premises throughout the day, while the atmosphere will turn devotional in the evening with bhajan programmes.

Baba’s ‘Jamma’ on September 21 to Be the Main Attraction

The main attraction of the Bhado Mela will be Baba Ramdev Ji’s Jamma, scheduled for September 21.

On the occasion, devotees are expected to arrive not only from Rajnandgaon but also from various districts of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and other states. The presence of devotees and bhajan singers arriving from outside will add further significance to the event.

People who are unable to meet each other during the year for various reasons get an opportunity to meet at Baba’s darbar during the Bhado Mela and share their joys and sorrows.

This is why devotees regard the Bhado Mela not only as a celebration of devotion to Baba Ramdev Ji but also as a festival of mutual brotherhood and social unity.
