Chaturmas Pravachan at Jain Bageecha: Muni Shreyanshprabh Ji Says Controlling Desires Can Lead to Inner Peace

“We suffer in life because we have desires. If there were no desires, there would be no reason for suffering. Our desires are endless, and instead of devoting ourselves to the Supreme, we remain engaged in fulfilling our own wishes.”
These observations were made by Muni Shreyanshprabh Sagar Ji, a disciple of Kharatar Gachchhadhipati Maniprabha Sagar Ji, during his regular discourse on the fourth day of the Samvatsari festival at the new hall located in Jain Bageecha.
Muni Shreyanshprabh Ji said that when a person remains in anger, he does not listen to anyone. Anger makes a person blind and deaf, while the ability to think and understand gradually disappears.
He said that sitting in the presence of the Supreme brings peace. If a person approaches the Supreme with good intentions, it can also lead towards attaining salvation.

He further said that people listen to religious teachings every day but often fail to bring them into their conduct. Even if a person is able to incorporate a single aspect of these teachings into daily life, the person’s life would become meaningful.
‘Time Is Powerful; Fulfil Your Duty’
Muni Shreyanshprabh Ji said that no matter how much effort a person makes, if the time has not yet come for receiving what one desires, it cannot be attained.
“Time is powerful,” he said, while emphasising that a person should fulfil his or her duties.
He said that even after expending all one’s energy, it is not possible to experience the divine form of the Supreme. According to him, one has to care for the Supreme like a child, and only then does one receive the fortune of being able to touch the Supreme.
