Expresses Condolences, Assures Support and Directs Officials to Strengthen Safety Measures

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav visited the residence of the family of 40-year-old Santosh Sonwani, who died after drowning in a tragic accident at the Gaurinagar underbridge two days ago.
The Mayor met the bereaved family and expressed his condolences over the death of Santosh Sonwani. He paid tribute to the deceased and assured the family that all possible assistance and support would be extended to them during the difficult period.
Ward councillor Sanju Baghel, along with local leaders Ashok Nirmalkar, Sonu Yadav, Dinesh Dewangan, Raghuveer Wadhwa, Kabir Sahu, Ramlal Gaikwad, Vinod Gaikwad, Chhotu Rajput, Mahesh Dewangan and several local residents were also present during the visit.
Santosh Sonwani had been living with his wife and children in a separate house near the Tokapara underbridge. The Mayor visited the family at their residence and offered them support following the tragic incident.
Mayor Calls for Investigation Into Accident
After speaking with the grieving family, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav took serious note of the incident and directed the concerned officials to conduct a proper and impartial investigation.

He said that determining the actual circumstances behind the accident was important so that corrective measures could be taken and similar incidents could be prevented in the future.
The Mayor also inspected the accident site and reviewed the safety arrangements at the underbridge.
Instructions to Strengthen Underbridge Safety
Mayor Yadav directed the concerned authorities to ensure adequate safety arrangements at the underbridge. He also instructed railway officials to take necessary steps to expedite the completion of the underbridge work.
According to the directions issued during the inspection, efforts are to be made to complete the work by December-January so that the facility can be made safer and more accessible for citizens.
The Mayor emphasised that public safety must remain the highest priority of the civic administration.
“Public safety is our top priority, and every necessary step will be taken to ensure the safety of citizens,” the Mayor said.
The visit came amid concerns over safety at the underbridge following the fatal incident. The administration’s focus is now expected to remain on identifying the causes of the accident, strengthening safety measures and preventing the recurrence of such incidents.
