A meeting of the Digvijay Stadium Management Committee was held today at the Stadium Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Collector and Chairman of the Digvijay Stadium Committee, Jitendra Yadav.

The meeting discussed in detail the better management of Digvijay Stadium, expansion of sports facilities, infrastructure development, development of new sources of revenue and further improvement of facilities for players.

The Collector said Digvijay Stadium should be developed not merely as a venue for sporting events but as a comprehensive sports complex equipped with all necessary facilities. He said special attention should be given to organising existing sports activities, introducing new sports, creating a better training environment for players and increasing the stadium’s sources of revenue.

The Collector said Rajnandgaon has talented players and coaches in various sports. Their experience can be utilised to conduct regular activities for different sports at the stadium. Children from rural areas should also be connected with training camps and encouraged towards sports.

Special Focus on Improving Weightlifting Facilities

The Collector specifically directed officials to improve the weightlifting area. He said players from Rajnandgaon have achieved notable accomplishments at national and international levels.

He also directed that a system be prepared for regular review and increase of shop rents so that the income of the Stadium Committee can increase continuously.

The meeting also considered improving the condition and facilities of the shops, increasing their rents and introducing a system of regular annual rent increases in the future.

Modern Toilets and Better Maintenance

The Collector directed that toilets in the stadium premises be constructed with modern facilities and according to improved standards.

He said construction alone does not complete the arrangement and that regular cleanliness and maintenance are equally necessary. He directed that a system for regular cleaning and maintenance be ensured along with the construction of the toilets.

The Collector also said complete details of income and expenditure should be presented regularly during committee meetings. This would increase transparency in the functioning of the committee and strengthen public confidence.

He further stated that the stadium’s property and spaces should be used strictly in accordance with prescribed rules and statutory provisions. Officials were directed to review the necessary documents with the concerned institutions and take action as per the rules.

Generator Repair and Stadium Lighting

A proposal for repairing the 500 KVA generator located on the stadium premises was approved.
