Collector and Digvijay Stadium Committee Chairman Jitendra Yadav called for the Digvijay Stadium to be developed as a comprehensive sports complex, with key decisions taken on expanding sports facilities, improving infrastructure, developing new revenue sources and providing better facilities for players.

The Congress, led by Dongargarh MLA Harshita Baghel, staged a road blockade in Thelkadih of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district on Thursday, demanding approval for a separate college building. The protest was called off after administrative officials assured the demonstrators that the matter would be taken up with the government.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh paid tribute to Mamta-Mayee Minimata, recalling her lifelong struggle against social evils and her pioneering role as the first woman MP from Madhya Pradesh in 1952. Speaking at the Mamta-Mayee Minimata Nirvan Diwas, held at Guru Ghasidas Cultural Hall, Dr. Singh administered the oath to newly elected office-bearers of the District Satnami Seva Samiti and announced ₹10 lakh for development works. He lauded Minimata’s work for women’s freedom, education, and progress, her efforts to eradicate untouchability, and her promotion of Guru Ghasidas’s message of equality. The event also honored meritorious students and saw the participation of MLAs, former legislators, and a large gathering from the Satnami community.
