Meets Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Seeks Immediate Resumption of Work on Gathula–Bhedikala–Bhathagaon Road

The prolonged suspension of road construction on the Gathula–Bhedikala–Bhathagaon main road has raised concern among residents, with Shubham Vaishnav of Bhathagaon village meeting Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and Rajnandgaon MLA Dr Raman Singh to highlight the difficulties being faced by villagers.
Vaishnav submitted a memorandum to Dr Raman Singh, drawing attention to the road stretch from Gathula to Bhathagaon, where construction work has reportedly remained stalled for nearly six months.
Road Dug Up in February, Work Yet to Resume
According to Vaishnav, the road was dug up in February in the name of construction, but the work could not progress thereafter.
With the road remaining incomplete and in poor condition for a prolonged period, villagers, students, farmers and school teachers have been facing considerable difficulties while commuting.
The situation has worsened during the monsoon, with mud, potholes and waterlogging reported on the road, creating a risk of accidents.
Appeal for Immediate Intervention
Vaishnav urged Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh to ensure that the stalled road construction work is started immediately and requested him to issue necessary directions to the concerned Public Works Department officials.

Taking the matter seriously, Dr Raman Singh assured Vaishnav of immediate action. He said he would discuss the matter with the concerned department on the same day and issue necessary directions to the officials so that the road construction, which has remained stalled for a long period, could be resumed.
‘Road Is Essential to Daily Life of Villagers’
Vaishnav said the road is not merely a means of transportation but an important route connected to the everyday needs of villagers in the area.
He said the prolonged suspension of construction has caused considerable inconvenience to residents. He added that efforts would continue through regular coordination with the concerned department to ensure that construction work resumes at the earliest.
Vaishnav further said that public issues in the area would be strongly raised before concerned officials and the government, and every possible effort would be made for their resolution.
