Collector Jitendra Yadav held a meeting with representatives of various industrial establishments at the Collectorate conference hall to promote the use of green energy in industries.
During the meeting, the Collector sought information about the current electricity consumption and energy requirements of the industries. He elaborated on the importance of green energy and urged industrial institutions to prioritize electricity generation through solar power.
Collector Yadav said industries should generate as much electricity as possible locally to meet their future energy requirements. This, he noted, would strengthen energy security while also reducing operational costs.
He directed all industries to take necessary action towards installing solar power systems within one month. The Collector assured industrial representatives that the district administration would provide necessary support to resolve any technical, administrative or other challenges related to the installation of solar plants.
The Collector also encouraged industries to install rooftop solar systems on their premises, residential complexes for employees and other available buildings. He further suggested exploring arrangements such as virtual net metering to maximize the use of renewable energy.
Focus on Community-Centric CSR Initiatives
Collector Yadav also urged industrial institutions to prioritize initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that directly benefit local communities.
He said residents of nearby villages and local communities are among the key stakeholders of industrial establishments. Connecting the development of local communities with the growth vision of industries would help strengthen coordination between industry and society, he added.
Industries that have already installed solar power systems were encouraged to motivate other industrial establishments to adopt green energy.
Representatives of various industries shared details about their existing solar projects, energy generation capacity and future plans. Several industrial establishments informed the administration about plans for expanding solar capacity, installing rooftop solar systems and developing renewable energy projects. Some representatives also stated that surveys had been completed and proposals prepared, with work expected to begin soon.
Additional Collector Prem Prakash Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner Sameer Mishra and representatives of various industrial establishments were present at the meeting.
