Hindu Jagran Manch submits memorandum to Collector and SP seeking investigation into alleged misuse of SC reservation benefits

The district unit of Hindu Jagran Manch submitted a memorandum to the District Collector and Superintendent of Police demanding strict action against employees who allegedly continue to avail government benefits under the Scheduled Caste (SC) category even after religious conversion.
Allegations Regarding Reservation Benefits
In the memorandum, the organization stated that as per constitutional provisions, benefits under the Scheduled Caste category are applicable only to followers of Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism. It alleged that despite adopting other religions, certain individuals in the district are continuing to avail reservation benefits and government employment advantages, which it termed a violation of established rules.
Concerns Raised Over Tribal and Rural Areas
The organization specifically referred to areas such as Chhuria tehsil and tribal regions including Mohla-Manpur, alleging that religious conversion activities are active in these regions. It further claimed that similar instances are emerging “internally” even within urban areas of the district.
Issue of “Crypto Christian” Cases Highlighted
The memorandum also expressed concern over cases described as “Crypto Christian,” referring to individuals allegedly maintaining an outward Hindu identity while adopting another religion. According to the organization, such individuals may be continuing to avail reservation benefits, thereby affecting the rights of eligible candidates.
Demand for Special Investigation
Citing judgments of the Supreme Court, the organization demanded the launch of a special investigation drive across the district. It urged authorities to terminate government services of individuals found guilty and to issue strict administrative guidelines to prevent similar irregularities in the future.
Administrative and Social Discussions Intensify
Following the submission of the memorandum, discussions surrounding religious conversion and reservation policies have intensified across the district. The organization described the matter as an emerging major social and administrative issue requiring immediate attention.
