Acting on media reports and claims circulating on social media regarding an alleged leak of a Class 12 board examination paper, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated a detailed investigation into the matter.

According to the board, the Class 12 Hindi examination was conducted successfully on March 14, 2026 across the state. However, on March 15 around 5 PM, information surfaced on social media platforms, particularly WhatsApp, claiming that a handwritten sheet containing questions related to the Hindi examination had been circulating online a day before the exam.

Subsequently, several media reports on March 16 stated that the questions mentioned in the viral handwritten sheet appeared similar to those asked in the B-set question paper of the Hindi board examination.

The board clarified that the viral content and handwritten sheet currently circulating online are not clear or fully legible, making it difficult to verify their authenticity or conclusively establish whether they match the actual examination paper.

Officials from the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education also pointed out that the video and related material surfaced only after the examination had already been conducted. Therefore, prima facie it cannot yet be treated as a confirmed case of a question paper leak.

Despite this, considering the sensitive nature of board examinations, the board has taken the issue seriously. As a precautionary measure, an FIR has been registered and the matter has been referred to police authorities and the cyber cell for a comprehensive investigation to determine the factual situation.

The Secretary of the board stated that maintaining the confidentiality and transparency of examinations remains a top priority. He added that if any irregularities are discovered during the investigation, strict action will be taken in accordance with the rules.

The authorities have assured students and parents that all necessary steps are being taken to safeguard the integrity of the examination process and ensure that any misinformation or wrongdoing is thoroughly examined.
