Chief Minister virtually inaugurates development works worth ₹226.68 crore for Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation.

Vishnu Deo Sai announced that Rajnandgaon will be developed into a modern model city equipped with advanced civic facilities. The Chief Minister virtually participated in the foundation-laying ceremony for various urban development projects worth ₹226.68 crore for the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation from his official residence in Nava Raipur.
During the program, Raman Singh joined virtually from his official residence in Raipur. School Education Minister and district in-charge Gajendra Yadav, Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey and Mayor Madhusudan Yadav attended the ceremony at Pushpavatika Yoga Hall in Rajnandgaon along with other public representatives.
Foundation for the City’s Future
Congratulating the residents of Rajnandgaon, the Chief Minister said the foundation-laying ceremony marks not only the start of development works but also the beginning of a strong foundation for the city’s future. He stated that the state government is working for balanced and inclusive development with the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”.

He emphasized that Rajnandgaon will play a crucial role in building a developed Chhattisgarh as part of the broader vision of a developed India.
Sewerage Plants and Urban Infrastructure
Under the AMRUT Mission 2.0, two new sewage treatment plants will be established in the city to scientifically treat domestic wastewater. This will prevent untreated water from flowing into rivers and drains, helping protect the environment and public health.
The Chief Minister also announced that roads will be widened and beautified under the Mukhyamantri Nagarotthan Yojana to improve traffic flow and boost commercial activities.
2,000-Seater Modern Auditorium Planned
A major highlight of the project is the construction of a 2,000-seat modern auditorium in Rajnandgaon, which will provide a new platform for the city’s cultural, literary, and artistic activities. The Chief Minister said the auditorium will offer local artists, writers, and youth greater opportunities to showcase their talents and will become a new identity for the city.
The development works also include the upgradation of the transport city area, construction of drains, expansion of pipelines, and strengthening of basic infrastructure across all 51 wards of the city.
Focus on Cleanliness and Waste Management
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, new waste management facilities will also be installed to strengthen the city’s sanitation system. The Chief Minister said the aim is not only to participate in cleanliness surveys but to position Rajnandgaon among the leading clean cities in the country.

He added that the government is accelerating development works to ensure that the benefits of public resources reach citizens directly. The Chief Minister credited the guidance of Assembly Speaker Raman Singh and the cooperation of local representatives for the city’s rapid progress.
Budget Support for District Development
Addressing the program, Assembly Speaker Raman Singh said Rajnandgaon holds a special place in his heart and that the day marks an important milestone in the city’s development journey. He informed that the state budget for 2026–27 has allocated around ₹1,000 crore for the overall development of Rajnandgaon district.
He also said projects worth ₹250 crore have been approved for the conservation and development of the Shivnath River. Additional projects include ₹20 crore for Panchayat and Rural Development, ₹20 crore for School Education, ₹60 crore for Urban Administration, and nearly ₹200 crore through the Public Works Department.
Sports infrastructure will also be strengthened with ₹8.8 crore allocated for a turf and related facilities at the Hockey Stadium Rajnandgaon and ₹6 crore for improvements at the Digvijay Stadium.
Historic Development for the City
District in-charge minister Gajendra Yadav described the foundation-laying ceremony for projects worth ₹226.68 crore as a historic moment for the city. He said the works will accelerate development of roads, drains, drinking water supply, and other essential infrastructure.
MP Santosh Pandey congratulated residents on the new projects and called upon citizens to work together to secure the top rank in the upcoming cleanliness survey.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav said the state government is consistently working for the overall development of Rajnandgaon and that the new projects will significantly improve infrastructure and civic facilities across the city.
The event was attended by District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, Collector Jitendra Yadav, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and several public representatives, officials, and residents.
