Strengthen Health Infrastructure Across the District: Collector Jitendra Yadav

Post-delivery mother and newborn to be kept under medical supervision for three days; instructions issued to speed up paddy lifting and ensure monthly Rice Festival

Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav chaired the weekly time-limit review meeting at the Collectorate Conference Hall and issued important directions across multiple sectors, with special emphasis on strengthening health facilities in the district.

The Collector stated that paddy procurement has been successfully completed and instructed officials to expedite the lifting of procured paddy. He directed that verification processes, completion certificates and all related formalities be finalised at the earliest. Congratulating the Food Department, Revenue Department and all concerned officials, he appreciated the smooth completion of the paddy procurement process.

Reviewing cases related to CM Darshan, PG Portal and Collector Jan Darshan, the Collector directed that the Rice Festival (Chawal Utsav) be organised on the 7th of every month at all government fair price shops, with the participation of public representatives.

Focus on Maternal and Child Health

To reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, the Collector instructed officials to promote institutional deliveries across the district. He directed that after delivery, both mother and newborn must be kept under a doctor’s supervision for at least three days in both government and private hospitals.
He also emphasized maintaining cleanliness in maternity wards, restricting unnecessary visitors, and discussed arrangements for separate post-delivery rooms for mothers and newborns.

The Collector instructed that mobile numbers of all nurses at primary health centres in rural areas be coordinated through the Aaroh BPO Centre to ensure timely health services. He stressed continuous follow-up of patients’ health and prioritising the deployment of gynaecologists in delivery rooms. Primary Health Centres should continue conducting deliveries, while sub-health centres must also remain active.

Digital Health & Preventive Care

Collector Yadav reviewed the vaccination campaign, U-WIN portal, and directed daily monitoring of health services along with regular review of Block Medical Officers’ performance. He instructed effective implementation of ABHA kiosks, enabling QR code-based OPD registration, and reviewed health services being delivered to rural areas through tele-medicine.

Highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle, he directed the AYUSH Department to work in coordination with the Health Department to benefit more people and run awareness campaigns for the general public. He also instructed regular inspections of hostels to monitor children’s health and ensure timely disbursement of scholarships.

Other Key Directions

The Collector reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural and Urban) and instructed officials to complete houses at the earliest. He directed effective implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, encouraging maximum beneficiaries, including farmers in rural areas, to reduce electricity bills.

He ordered continued action against illegal mining, reviewed pending compensation cases and issues related to the Parikrama Path, and directed all construction agencies to complete projects within the stipulated timeline. He also instructed officials to participate in training related to GPF and pension cases.

The Food Safety Department was directed to conduct regular inspections and take action against unsafe food practices. The Collector also instructed verification of farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and encouraged farmers to adopt alternative crops instead of paddy.

Officials Present

Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat Ms. Suruchi Singh reviewed PMAY-G progress and MGNREGA works, while Additional Collector Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma instructed officials to ensure timely submission of replies to Assembly questions.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Mr. C. L. Markandey, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, SDM Dongargarh Mr. M. Bhargav, SDM Dongargaon Mr. Shrikant Koram, SDM Mr. Gautam Patil, and other district officials.
