With the paddy procurement season entering its final phase, Rajnandgaon Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav on Friday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Collectorate conference hall with Rural Agriculture Extension Officers, Patwaris, Cooperative Society Managers, and Data Entry Operators to assess ground-level progress and resolve operational bottlenecks.

Addressing officials, the Collector directed all departments to work with complete alertness and urgency during the remaining procurement days, stressing that farmers must not face any inconvenience at any stage of the process. He reviewed issues related to farmer registration, land record corrections, and paddy sales on the AgriStack portal, instructing concerned staff to ensure prompt resolution of pending cases.

Expressing concern over the pace of paddy lifting, Mr. Yadav ordered immediate measures to accelerate transportation from procurement centres. He emphasized continuous monitoring of paddy entries, physical verification, and regular inspections. The Collector also noted that millers’ lifting activities are being tracked through the “Satark App,” and instructed officials to strictly follow prescribed norms while ensuring timely movement of stock.

Taking a firm stand against illegal trade, the Collector directed authorities to maintain sustained and stringent action at inter-state check posts to prevent unauthorized transportation of paddy by middlemen and agents. He said such practices not only harm genuine farmers but also disrupt the integrity of the procurement system.

Mr. Yadav further instructed all nodal officers to conduct frequent inspections of procurement centres. Special emphasis was laid on proper storage arrangements, including adequate cap cover, drainage systems for water disposal, and overall protection of stocked paddy. He made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated in the maintenance and security of procured grain.

The meeting also reviewed progress under the AgriStack portal regarding new farmer registrations, land area modifications, and corrections in cultivation records. Officials were directed to complete these tasks on priority to avoid delays in payments and procurement approvals.

Senior officials present at the meeting included Additional Collector Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma, Deputy Director of Agriculture Mr. Tikam Singh Thakur, District Food Officer Mr. Ravindra Soni, Deputy Collector Mr. Aniket Sahu, along with representatives from concerned departments.

Concluding the review, the Collector reiterated that coordinated efforts, strict supervision, and timely execution at every level are essential to ensure smooth completion of the paddy procurement process, while safeguarding farmers’ interests and preventing irregularities.
