The fifth edition of World Food India concluded triumphantly in New Delhi on September 29, 2025, securing over ₹1 lakh crore in investment commitments from 200+ international firms, propelling India’s food processing sector toward self-reliance. Hosted at Bharat Mandapam, the three-day expo—inaugurated by PM Modi—drew 50,000 participants, including Nestle, PepsiCo, and UAE’s Lulu Group, focusing on sustainable tech like AI-driven supply chains and zero-waste packaging.

Key MoUs included ₹25,000 crore from Adani Agri for cold-chain infrastructure in Bihar and UP, and ₹15,000 crore from Dutch firm GEA for dairy automation, creating 5 lakh jobs for rural youth. Food Minister Piyush Goyal announced a ₹10,000 crore PLI extension for 50 new MSME clusters, emphasizing organic farming in the Northeast to tap premium global markets.

The event featured 500+ startups showcasing millet innovations, aligning with India’s G20 presidency legacy on sustainable agri. Amid climate challenges, it addressed 30% post-harvest losses through blockchain traceability pilots. Exporters project a jump from $50 billion to $100 billion by 2030, with Odisha’s seafood hub as a spotlight.

Critics noted urban bias, urging more tribal inclusion, but overall, World Food India cements India’s pivot from farm-to-fork giant, blending tradition with innovation for nutritional security.
