In preparation for the upcoming elections in the newly formed Ghumka Nagar Panchayat under the Dongargarh Assembly constituency, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun intensifying its organizational activities. In this context, a workers’ conference was organized in Ghumka, where a large number of party workers participated enthusiastically.
BJP Strengthens Election Preparations in Ghumka
The conference was attended by Dongargarh in-charge and Chairman of the Telghani Commission Jitendra Sahu, District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput, Central Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel, District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, along with senior leaders Ramesh Patel, Rajesh Shyamkar, and Election Convenor Madhusudan Yadav.
Addressing the gathering, Madhusudan Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Congress, stating that despite Congress rule in the Dongargarh Assembly constituency for seven years — including five years of government — the party only misled the public. He alleged that development in Chhattisgarh was obstructed during the Congress regime and corruption prevailed across sectors.
BJP Government’s Welfare Schemes Highlighted
Leaders emphasized that after the formation of the Vishnu Deo Sai government, farmers began receiving ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy procurement. They also highlighted the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, under which women receive ₹1,000 as financial assistance, describing it as a strong example of women empowerment.

Additionally, speakers mentioned that the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi provides ₹6,000 annually to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Party leaders collectively stated that despite Congress representatives serving as MLA and sarpanches in Dongargarh over the past seven years, significant development works worth crores of rupees in Ghumka were executed under the Vishnu Deo Sai government.
BJP Projects Itself as Party of Development
Speakers asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party is recognized for development-oriented governance and for respecting women as “Matrishakti.” They claimed that the BJP introduced the Women Empowerment Bill, which Congress allegedly did not allow to pass in the Lok Sabha.
Leaders further criticized Congress for failing to fulfill its promise of providing ₹500 to women as mentioned in its earlier manifesto. According to BJP leaders, Congress lacks credibility, while BJP stands on “Modi’s Guarantee,” “Vishnu Deo Sai’s Guarantee,” and “Dr. Raman Singh’s Guarantee.”
The gathering concluded with an appeal to voters to support the BJP symbol — the lotus — for the comprehensive development of Ghumka.
Former MLAs Recall Past Development Works
Former MLA Vinod Khandekar and Ramji Bharti shared achievements from their tenure, recalling large-scale development during the 15-year chief ministership of Dr. Raman Singh. They highlighted the establishment of a new college, playgrounds, and extensive road infrastructure, alleging that development momentum slowed during the past seven years under Congress.

Focus on Farmers’ Welfare
Central Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel spoke about farmer-centric initiatives, including improved availability of fertilizers and seeds. He stated that BJP governments expanded the number of cooperative societies and ensured timely payment to farmers after paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, positioning Chhattisgarh prominently at the national level.
Cultural Beginning and Conference Proceedings
The conference commenced with a patriotic rendition in praise of Bharat Mata performed by District Panchayat Member Kiran Barle. The event was successfully conducted by Pardesi Sonboir and Sawan Verma, while Mandal General Secretaries Janak Sahu and Lalit Sahu delivered the vote of thanks.
Senior BJP workers from Ghumka were honored with shawls and coconuts during the event.
