In a fiery and uncompromising statement that sent shockwaves across the nation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today vowed to hunt down the culprits behind the horrific bomb blast in South Delhi’s crowded market area “even from the depths of the netherworld (Patal)” and ensure they face the “strictest punishment under the law.”

Addressing a hastily convened press conference at North Block hours after the explosion that claimed 18 lives and injured over 60, an visibly furious Shah said: “We will not rest, we will not sleep, we will not stop until every single individual involved in this cowardly act—whether the bomber, the planner, the financier, or the mastermind—is traced, dragged out even from Patal, and given the harshest punishment the law permits. This is my promise to every victim and every citizen of India.

”The Home Minister confirmed that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the case and multiple teams of the National Security Guard (NSG), RAW, and Intelligence Bureau have been pressed into action. “We have already secured crucial leads. The perpetrators may think they can hide behind borders or in darkness, but they forget—this is Modi’s India. No terrorist, no matter how deep his rat-hole, can escape our reach,” Shah asserted.

He further announced that a special multi-agency task force has been constituted under a senior NIA Director-General rank officer, with direct reporting to the Home Ministry. A reward of ₹50 lakh has been declared for any credible information leading to the arrest of the masterminds, while ₹25 lakh will be given for information on the bombers.

Sources in the Ministry revealed that preliminary forensic examination points to the use of high-grade RDX with possible foreign linkages, and digital footprints recovered from the blast site are being traced to sleeper cells in multiple states. “This was not a lone-wolf attack. It bears the signature of a larger conspiracy aimed at destabilising India,” a senior official said on condition of anonymity.

The Home Minister also warned state governments against any laxity, stating that Chief Ministers and DGPs have been directed to immediately activate all anti-terror mechanisms and conduct combing operations in sensitive areas. “Any officer found sleeping on duty will face immediate suspension and action under national security laws,” he added.

As the nation mourns the loss of innocent lives—among them schoolchildren and women—Shah’s “Patal se kheench kar layenge” declaration has ignited a wave of public support, with citizens and political leaders across party lines backing the government’s resolve for zero tolerance against terrorism.

With investigations now in full swing round-the-clock, India awaits swift and decisive justice. The message from North Block is clear: those who spill Indian blood will find no refuge—not on earth, not beneath it.
