Nitya Krishi Kendra and Ratna Krishi Kendra in Sukuldaihan found violating Insecticides Act; Show-Cause Notices Issued

Acting on the directions of Collector Jitendra Yadav, the Agriculture Department has intensified inspections across Rajnandgaon district to ensure farmers receive fertilizers and agricultural inputs at prescribed prices while preventing black marketing and hoarding. During a surprise inspection, two agricultural input shops in Sukuldaihan village were sealed for allegedly violating provisions of the Insecticides Act and related regulations.
The action was taken following complaints regarding irregularities in the sale and storage of pesticides.
Shops Sealed Over Multiple Violations
During the inspection, officials found that Nitya Krishi Kendra and Ratna Krishi Kendra, located in Sukuldaihan village of Rajnandgaon development block, were allegedly selling pesticides in violation of statutory rules.
According to the Agriculture Department, several serious irregularities were detected, including:

- Sale of pesticides in violation of provisions of the Insecticides Act.
- Storage and sale of pesticides through unauthorized warehouses.
- Absence of mandatory source certificates and required documentation.
- Improper maintenance of statutory records and registers.
- Other procedural violations related to the licensing and storage of agricultural inputs.
Considering the gravity of the violations, the department sealed the sales premises of both establishments with immediate effect and issued show-cause notices to the operators.
Agriculture Department Intensifies Enforcement
The inspection was carried out by a departmental team comprising:
- Sandhya Kochar, Assistant Director, Agriculture
- Avinash Dubey, Block Fertilizer Inspector
- Mithlesh Sahu, Agriculture Department official
Officials stated that regular inspections of fertilizer, pesticide and seed dealers are being conducted across the district to safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure the availability of quality agricultural inputs.

Strict Action Against Rule Violators
The Agriculture Department reiterated that any dealer found violating provisions of the Insecticides Act and other applicable regulations will face stringent legal action.
The ongoing inspection drive aims to curb illegal trading practices, prevent the circulation of unauthorized agricultural chemicals, and protect farmers from substandard or illegally marketed products.
