On the occasion of National Youth Day, a one-day Personality Development Camp was organised at Urja Park, Rani Sagar Chaupati, by the National Service Scheme (NSS), Rajnandgaon. Addressing the gathering as the chief speaker, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav said that today’s youth are the true architects of tomorrow’s golden future and must play a decisive role in nation-building through determination, hard work and strong character.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda’s timeless call, “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached,” the Mayor urged young people to adopt discipline, commitment and moral values in their personal and professional lives. He recalled Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893, stating that it brought India global recognition as a spiritual, cultural and humanitarian leader.

Mayor Yadav said that Swami Vivekananda’s message of tolerance, peace and coexistence united the global community and showcased India’s rich religious, intellectual and cultural heritage on the world stage. His ideas, the Mayor noted, continue to inspire generations of youth even today.
The camp, which began at 8 am, continued with enthusiasm and high energy throughout the day. The Student Youth Forum actively supported the organisation of the programme. The event was presided over by Mrs Monika Das, District Organiser, NSS Rajnandgaon. Several corporators and distinguished guests, including Sawan Verma, Manohar Yadav, Kamlesh Bandhe, Kuleshwar Dhruv, Alok Shroti, Shanky Bagga, Satish Sahu and Chandrakrit Sahu, along with NSS programme officers and coordinators, were present.
