Ahead of the festive season, the Food and Drug Administration has intensified inspections across Rajnandgaon to prevent food adulteration and ensure quality food products. Samples from several establishments have been sent for laboratory testing, while ₹68,000 in penalties has been imposed in cases involving substandard food products.

Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav reviewed the work of Gram Panchayat secretaries and directed officials to accelerate the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, complete construction works within deadlines without compromising quality, undertake tree plantation in school premises and organise Tiranga Yatras at the Panchayat level.

The National Child Health Programme and Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Scheme have helped Rajnandgaon’s young Mayank regain the joy of hearing. After losing his hearing at around one-and-a-half years of age, he underwent a successful cochlear implant operation at AIIMS. Following the surgery, he is receiving speech and hearing therapy at a Regional Rehabilitation Centre.

The final rehearsal for the district-level Independence Day celebrations was held at the Shaurya Parade Ground of the Police Training School in Rajnandgaon. Collector Jitendra Yadav reviewed the arrangements, while Zila Panchayat CEO Durga Prasad Adhikari performed the role of chief guest and hoisted the national flag. A total of 15 platoons will participate in the parade.
