Under the ‘Mor Makan Mor Aas’ initiative, a component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), long-term tenants in Rajnandgaon are now being offered their own permanent homes at affordable, government-determined rates. With 1,282 multi-storey houses fully constructed in areas like Lakhouli, Pendri, Mohara, and Rewadeeh, and another 648 units under various stages of construction, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation is set to conduct a lottery on 15 May 2025 to allocate these homes.

Aiming to strengthen urban governance and development, Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and other senior officials participated in the two-day 'Nagar Suraj Sangam' workshop in Raipur, inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao.

In a heartwarming testament to the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Chhowaram Sahu, a resident of Raveli village in Rajnandgaon district, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after receiving a newly constructed pucca house. During a local visit, District Panchayat member Dev Kumari Sahu discovered the home and praised the initiative that continues to transform lives across rural India.

During his visit to Kaudikasa village as part of Su-Shasan Tihar 2025, District Secretary Jay Prakash Maurya assured Khorebahra Netam of assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Villagers also raised concerns about drinking water, prompting a commitment for an additional water tank to meet local needs.

With an overwhelming response from citizens, the “Sushasan Tihar 2025” initiative in Rajnandgaon district has seen a surge of public participation. Over 56,988 applications have been submitted so far, covering demands related to pensions, housing, electricity, job cards, and more. The initiative aims to resolve public grievances through direct engagement and efficient governance.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh attended the Maa Karma Jayanti and inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Maa Karma Bhavan in Surgi village, Rajnandgaon. Lauding the spiritual strength of Maa Karma's blessings for the Sahu community, he announced ₹7 lakh for a shed construction. MP Santosh Pandey also pledged ₹5 lakh for community development.
