As paddy procurement enters its final phase, the Rajnandgaon district administration has intensified vigilance against illegal transport and sale of paddy, seizing 845 quintals of grain worth nearly ₹1.47 crore and registering cases against 10 accused.
In a major crackdown on illegal paddy movement, the Rajnandgaon district administration seized 615 bags of paddy being transported unlawfully from Maharashtra into Chhattisgarh and initiated proceedings to confiscate the vehicles.
Acting on the directions of Collector Jitendra Yadav, district authorities have intensified action against illegal paddy trading by middlemen and agents. In two fresh cases, over 512 quintals of illegal paddy worth nearly ₹16 lakh were seized, taking the total seizure this season to more than ₹8.27 crore.
The Rajnandgaon administration has intensified its crackdown on illegal paddy sales, seizing 820 quintals worth ₹25.42 lakh in a latest raid. With total seizures now at 1,804 quintals and two vehicles, authorities have set up interstate check-posts and ordered strict action against traders storing paddy illegally.
