In a significant push for rural infrastructure and employment generation, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh on Monday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 11 development projects worth a combined ₹12.87 crore during his visit to Tedesra in Rajnandgaon district.

The centrepiece of the event was the inauguration of the newly constructed Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) building, built at a cost of ₹1.86 crore. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh said the institute would play a pivotal role in equipping local youth with technical skills and improving their chances of employment in various industries. “This ITI will not only provide technical education but also help our youth secure meaningful livelihoods,” he noted.
Currently, the ITI offers courses in COPA, Fitter, and Electrician trades. Officials confirmed that additional skill-oriented courses will be introduced in the coming months to meet evolving industrial demands. Dr. Singh expressed confidence that the facility would become a regional hub for technical training.

Out of the total ₹12.87 crore investment, five projects worth ₹11.48 crore were inaugurated, and six projects worth ₹1.39 crore saw their foundation stones laid. Among the key infrastructure works inaugurated were the ₹1.66 crore Eera to Gothan concrete road (1.15 km) and the ₹7.81 crore Somni to Navagaon road (6.05 km), both expected to significantly improve connectivity and rural transport in the region.
The Speaker also launched projects focused on community development, including the construction of a stadium, Panchayat Bhavan, and a plastic waste management unit. These facilities aim to enhance local amenities, promote sports and recreation, and strengthen environmental sustainability efforts.
Highlighting the role of skill-based employment, Dr. Singh also spoke about the Arohan BPO Centre operating in the region, describing it as “an excellent example of how local talent can be harnessed for modern job markets.” The centre is already employing a significant number of youths from rural areas, offering them competitive wages and professional experience.

Dr. Singh reiterated the state government’s commitment to balanced and inclusive development, noting that such projects serve a dual purpose — improving physical infrastructure while creating sustainable employment opportunities. “Our mission is to ensure that development reaches every village, every household, and every youth in Chhattisgarh,” he stated.
Local residents and community leaders expressed their appreciation for the projects, with many highlighting the long-term benefits these initiatives would bring in terms of connectivity, job creation, and overall quality of life.
The event concluded with Dr. Singh inspecting the newly inaugurated facilities and interacting with local beneficiaries. Officials from various departments, public representatives, and community members were present in large numbers to witness the landmark occasion.
