Shri Shivnath Regional Development Committee Welcomes New Collector Jitendra Yadav

Committee members discuss upcoming Mohara Mela and seek administrative support for smooth cultural celebrations

Members of the Shri Shivnath Regional Development Committee extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Collector of Rajnandgaon, Mr. Jitendra Yadav, at the district office on his assumption of charge. Committee President Dr. D.C. Jain, Secretary Amlendu Hajra, along with members S.K. Tiwari, Nikhil Mangwani, and others, met the Collector and greeted him with a floral bouquet, wishing him success in his new role.

During the courtesy meeting, Dr. Jain apprised the Collector about the three-day Mohara Mela held annually on the banks of the Shivnath River. The committee also submitted a memorandum requesting government assistance for organizing cultural programs and ensuring proper arrangements for the fair. The historical and cultural significance of the event was elaborated upon, emphasizing its role in promoting local heritage and community participation.

Collector Yadav appreciated the committee’s efforts and assured full administrative cooperation for the upcoming fair. Secretary Amlendu Hajra informed that this year, the Mohara Mela will be organized from November 4 to 6. The fair will feature diverse cultural performances, exhibitions of indigenous household products, and stalls by women self-help groups promoting local handicrafts. Religious and social programs will also be conducted with traditional fervor.

Committee spokesperson Shailendra Tiwari shared that the event aims to celebrate culture, encourage local entrepreneurship, and strengthen community spirit across the region.
